This is the story of the development of the Central University of Jammu during the first three years of its existence. The book vividly illustrates how development took place, from the selection of the site to the acquisition and development of the land, and finally, the construction of the buildings. In addition to developing the infrastructure, it also brings out the process of developing and implementing the academic curriculum. Like any new project of this magnitude, this too had many variables and impediments. Still, all these were resolved with the help and support of willing staff and other members of the organisation.
The whole narration in this book has been written in a simple way; without being verbose or the script labelled as turgid. This style was adopted deliberately, and it is hoped that the readers will appreciate the effort.
