Maritime strategy has always been structured by the rich and the powerful nations around a contest for minerals and markets. Minerals are vital ingredients to the national economy command over which enables sustainable development and a better quality of life for its peoples. This book highlights the need for deployment of greater resources for our maritime security, for that alone will ensure that India’s needs are not given short shrift by the international system. Above all India’s ability to contribute to the regional economic and related military security will enhance its own security.
